English :-

Indian is a land of famers . The live in villages .The Indian farmer is a simple man with no show about him. His dress is plain. He wears a dhoti which hangs upto the knee. The rest of his body is naked. He has a piece of cloth called angochha to wrap round his head .His foot is extremely simple. It is not wholesome. He does not get his meal everyday. Sometime he lives on a handful of gram. He lives in a house which is thatched with straw. The walls are made of mud. The floor is not plastered , In the rains the roof leaks and makes his life miserable. His house is dirty. Perhaps he dose not know how to keep his house neat and clean.

He is simple at heart. He earn his bread by the sweat of his brows. He works under the sun and the shower. He labours all the year round in his small bits of land. He depends solely upon the monsoon. If the monsoon is favourable, crops grow well. If the monsoon fails, he is ruined. He has to starve for the whole year. He is up in the early hour of the morning. He feeds his cattle. He takes his oxen and plough to his filed. If he is rich he can engage labourers to plough his filed. He takes his mid-day meal at his field. He comes home at dusk, weary and tired. He takes his supper and goes to bed. He sleeps peacefully for the whole night.

His life is extremely deplorable. He always suffers from wants. He cannect makes both ends meet with his poor income. If we want to improve his lot, we have to do a good deal for him. He should get enough water for his field. He should get good seeds and manure. Then only his farm can yield enough to support him. His children should get a free school to go to. He should get free medicine if he is ill. He should get leisure to enjoy life.

His place in socity is very important. He should get greater care at our hands. Fortunately the National Governments of our country is  doing something for him, but that is not enough.

भारतीय अकालों की भूमि है। गाँवों में रहते हैं। भारतीय किसान एक साधारण आदमी है जिसके बारे में कोई दिखावा नहीं है। उनका पहनावा सादा है। वह धोती पहनता है जो घुटने तक लटकता है। उसका बाकी शरीर नग्न है। उनके पास सिर पर गोल लपेटने के लिए अंगोचा नामक कपड़े का एक टुकड़ा है। उनका पैर बेहद साधारण है। यह पौष्टिक नहीं है। उसे रोज खाना नहीं मिलता। कुछ समय वह मुट्ठी भर चने पर रहता है। वह एक घर में रहता है जो भूसे से भरा हुआ है। दीवारें मिट्टी से बनी हैं। फर्श को प्लास्टर नहीं किया जाता है, बारिश में छत लीक हो जाती है और उसका जीवन दुखी हो जाता है। उसका घर गंदा है। शायद वह अपने घर को साफ और स्वच्छ रखना नहीं जानता है।

वह दिल के सरल हैं। वह अपने भौंह के पसीने से अपनी रोटी कमाता है। वह सूरज और शॉवर के नीचे काम करता है। वह अपनी छोटी-सी ज़मीन में साल भर काम करता है। वह पूरी तरह से मानसून पर निर्भर करता है। यदि मानसून अनुकूल रहता है, तो फसलें अच्छी होती हैं। यदि मानसून विफल रहता है, तो वह बर्बाद हो गया है। उसे पूरे साल भूखा रहना पड़ता है। वह सुबह जल्दी उठता है। वह अपने मवेशियों को चराता है। वह अपने बैलों और हल को अपने दायर में ले जाता है। यदि वह अमीर है तो वह अपने दायर को गिरवी रखने के लिए मजदूरों को लगा सकता है। वह अपने खेत में मध्यान्ह भोजन करता है। वह शाम को, थके हुए और थके हुए घर आता है। वह अपनी सुपारी लेकर बिस्तर पर जाता है। वह पूरी रात शांति से सोता है।

उनका जीवन बेहद निर्मम है। वह हमेशा चाहता है पीड़ित। वह अपनी गरीब आय के साथ दोनों सिरों को काट सकता है। अगर हम उसका बहुत सुधार करना चाहते हैं, तो हमें उसके लिए एक अच्छा काम करना होगा। उसे अपने खेत के लिए पर्याप्त पानी मिलना चाहिए। उसे अच्छे बीज और खाद मिलनी चाहिए। तब केवल उसका खेत ही उसे सहारा दे सकता है। उसके बच्चों को जाने के लिए एक मुफ्त स्कूल मिलना चाहिए। बीमार होने पर उसे मुफ्त दवा मिलनी चाहिए। उसे जीवन का आनंद लेने के लिए फुरसत मिलनी चाहिए।

समाज में उनका स्थान बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। उसे हमारे हाथों पर अधिक ध्यान देना चाहिए। सौभाग्य से हमारे देश की राष्ट्रीय सरकारें उसके लिए कुछ कर रही हैं, लेकिन यह पर्याप्त नहीं है।
